Technical question about this site

As a general question - why are all the posts and discussions on here in the last part of the year done as blog posts? I keep looking at the forum to se what the recent posts are but everything seems to be as a blog. Call me old school but isn't a blog supposed to be for some kind of personal entries like a journal on line?
Shouldn't general discussions be on the forum?
I keep going to the forum to see where people are going and anything new but no posts there. Looks like the forum for this group has died off.

Okay, for me when I go to the main page we see the blog posts filling the main body of the screen - so I guess this is why people post general discussions as blogs because it's right there. One problem is that blog topics don't change in the order posted, you need to scroll to a specific blog to see if there are any additional comments. Would any new forum posts automatically bump a thread back to the top as most recent activity?
The forum seems to be the quickest place to see if somebody posts "hey I'm heading out to ...."

So I guess overall it depends what people see as being of more importance - general discussion topics in the forums; then it would be nicer to see first or if blogs are seen as most important feature of the site leave it as is. Not sure how many people actually do blogs? Just that Ted guy - and he's a well known trouble maker ;-)

I agree Mark. You're not old school. Forums are for "who's heading where?" and things like that and Blogs are the the "how did it go?" and things like that. The two previous comments by Eva and Josh are good ones that could be implemeted.....so there is my Forum type comment/response on this Blog. :-)

i always do because its at the top of the page so its the first thing seen!!! so when i post like
"who is heading out tomorow"
thats the first thing you see as you come on to the site...somtimes i miss when people put somthing on the forum because its easy to miss at the bottom of the page.... if its possible to flip the forum and blog around i think that would be killer!!!

Andrew, if you are reading this, perhaps it would be a good idea to move the Forum page on the Main instead of the Blog. It makes more sense. Do what you think is best.
