This didn't jinx the forecast last time I did it... fingers crossed.

It wasn't supposed to be that windy today. It was just going to be another rainy, but warm day. I went out for lunch to realize it was beautiful, warm, and WINDY. I checked iwindsurf.com and it was looking on. I decided to go to Keswick.
As I left the house it was 18 degrees! In the car it showed a little cooler. It was strange, around Aurora I watched the thermometer plummet from 15 to 8 degrees in two minutes. Then came the rain. By the time I got to Keswick it was 6 or 7 degrees and not 18!…

Other then this it's been super fun down here. Powered up on my 9m HiFi Comp everyday riding in the Taiba lagoon. We all rented Honda 125cc for getting around too so it's pretty crazy. Last week I went nuts watching the
huge wind on Tuesday that I couldn't enjoy because I had to work. Well, yesterday was another epic day I couldn't ride! I saw some gusts into the 50Mph range! Keswick was blown flat and guys were out on 7's while I worked.

Dear Mr. Trossman,
Thank you for your email of May 13, 2009, providing your concerns with respect to kiteboards and sailboards in the proposed Small Vessel Regulations. I appreciate your taking the time to comment on this matter.
There has been some public misunderstanding regarding the treatment of kiteboards under the Small Vessel Regulations. Currently, under the existing Small Vessel Regulations, kiteboards are required to carry the same safety equipment as any other vessel. There are no s…

I was going crazy watching the trees blowing like stink on Tuesday while I had to work! It looked like an epic day - check it out at Keswick:

The forecasts showed that Wednesday would be nearly as good, so I did my best to clear my calendar. I managed to mostly clean it up. But then Wednesday came with a wint…

What a nice surprise, calling for decent wind a day after a decent sesh. It was gorgeous out. I got to wear my shorty! I got to Keswick and Dave and another guy were on the water, but there wasn't much happening. Occasionally there'd be a puff and Dave would take a run. There were a bunch of windsurfers with big sails and mostly shlogging.
As the kiters left the water, I got in. I could barely fly the damn kite. I dragged myself out to get out of the shadow. I was going way down wind too. All o…

After interviewing nannies, taking the kids for a bike ride, and carting them around to their play dates, I got to head up to Minet's since it was looking better than Keswick. I got on the water by 5:00. But I forgot my helmet because I lent it to someone to make a video. Well, I figured I needed the leash and just went for it.

I just had to post this photo of me riding this wave produced by FlowRider. The thing was on display at the Ex. What a rush. I guess my experience on a kiteboard and surf board came in handy because a lot of the other people trying it had real trouble getting up and riding. It would be cool to have in your…

For the first time in two years, my buddy
Rob was able to join me for a session. About 8-9 years ago Rob and I took an in-class kiting lesson together. We were to arrange an on-water session with the instructor, but that guy was a flake and it never happened. Rob got me in to this sport. He even took on-water lessons years before me. Rob is not as selfish as me, so he has not been out even a fraction as often as me. And h…

It was definitely not summer today. Everyone was wearing full wetsuits. It was overcast, cold and windy, just like fall. Today it was blowing from the east and I heard that Ashbriges was insane. Big waves and lots of small kites.
Like many other pussies I went to Cherry after work for some flat water fun. By 3:15 I was on the water with my 12 and smaller board. Check the wind:

Cherry Beach, that is. After five days of vacation at Blue Mountain with the kiddies ending with tornadoes touching down the next town over and a few hours without power, we came home to a decent breeze at Cherry. I got there by about 3:30 and on the water by 3:50. Check out the wind, or lack of it - but hey it was enough and there were plenty of others out there too.

Amy and Clay were married on the weekend - beautiful wedding.
Could have been a bit warmer weather and maybe some more food - but hey, you can't have everything
(it was hot - really hot and everyone was well fed)
Big Congratulations - hope you get some wind on the Honeymoon, I doubt if you'll have much else to do if you can't kiteboard ;-)
